Slug Generator
Turn a title into a clean URL slug: accents removed, symbols dropped, your choice of separator and length limit.
Type a title to generate a slug.

How it works
- Type or paste a title. The slug updates as you type.
- Choose a hyphen or underscore separator, keep or drop capital letters, and optionally set a maximum length.
- Copy the slug with the Copy button, or Reset to return the options to their defaults.
Counting rules
- “&” becomes “and”, and apostrophes are removed without a separator, so “Don’t” becomes “dont”.
- Accented letters are reduced to plain ones (“é” becomes “e”) and a few letters are spelled out: ß to ss, æ to ae, œ to oe, ø to o, đ to d, ł to l, þ to th.
- Every run of other characters becomes one separator, and separators at either end are removed.
- Letters outside the Latin alphabet, such as Chinese or Cyrillic, are removed unless “Keep non-Latin letters” is on.
- A maximum length cuts the slug and, if that falls inside a word, drops the partial word so the slug ends on a whole word.
- Your text is processed in your browser and is not uploaded.
Worked example: “Café München & Co.” becomes “cafe-munchen-and-co”.
