Lorem Ipsum Generator
Generate placeholder text as paragraphs, sentences or words, as plain text or HTML paragraphs.
Text is generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Choose paragraphs, sentences or words and enter how many you need. The text appears as you change settings.
- Switch off “Start with Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet” for text that does not use the traditional opening.
- Choose HTML paragraphs to wrap each paragraph in <p> tags, then copy the result. Press Regenerate for a different version.
Counting rules
- Text is built from a fixed list of classic Lorem Ipsum words, so it is placeholder copy and has no meaning.
- A sentence is 8 to 16 words and a paragraph is 3 to 7 sentences. Words are lowercase with no punctuation.
- You can generate up to 50 paragraphs, 200 sentences or 5,000 words at a time.
- Output is repeatable: the same settings and the same Regenerate count always give the same text.
- HTML paragraphs applies to paragraphs only.
- Text is generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored.
- Your text is processed in your browser and is not uploaded.
Worked example: Five words with the traditional opening give “lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”.
